Meaning of the Emblem

The Politap emblem is a pentagon on a white ground. Inside is a green eight-sided frame, with POLITEKNIK NEGERI above and KETAPANG below in white Copperplate Gothic Bold, five orange stars on the left and right, and a yellow circle holding a torch with a red flame. Around it are a brown parang and mandau, six blue wings, a green kedondong tree, seven yellow bamboo segments, a light green eight-pointed star, a black pen with a red tip, and an open white book.

What the Elements Mean

The pentagon

Stands for Pancasila, the five principles of the Indonesian state.
The 8-sided frame

Represents the points of the compass: Politap aims to produce excellent, skilled people who can work in every field of life.
Five stars on the left and right

Stand for belief in One Almighty God: Politap upholds religious values that shape people of noble character.
The torch with a red flame

Politap aims to enlighten and educate society; the flame also stands for the drive to keep moving forward.
The brown parang and mandau

Traditional weapons of Ketapang: Politap equips students with knowledge and skills as their tools for life after graduation.

Green

Fertility.
Yellow

Glory, triumph and nobility; the colour of the Tanjungpura Kingdom, the great kingdom of Ketapang.
Red
