National Selection Based on Test (SNBT)

SNBT

Description

The National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) selects students from their results in the computer-based written exam (UTBK), optionally with additional criteria set by each state university. It is open to graduates of the last three years from senior high, vocational and Islamic schools or equivalent, and to Package C graduates of the last three years who are at most 25 years old on 1 July of the admission year. Participants pay for the test, which the government subsidises.

Objectives

  • Identify applicants likely to complete their studies at a state university well and on time.

  • Let applicants take the test flexibly by choosing a suitable test location.

  • Select applicants based on UTBK results and/or other criteria agreed by the universities.

  • Allow applicants to choose state universities across regions.
