Director Emphasizes Four Solutions for Navigating Post-Pandemic Job Opportunities

KETAPANG – Monday (19/09/2022). After two years of holding graduation judicium ceremonies online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) held the judicium in person once again. Held in the Directorate Building Hall of Politeknik Ketapang, the judicium was divided into three sessions over two days, from 19 to 20 September 2022, with a total of 406 participants from eight study programs.

The event commenced with the reading of the judicium decree by the Vice Director for Student Affairs, representing the Vice Director for Academic Affairs. This was followed by the reading of the Minutes of the Final Graduation Session by each Head of Department, and concluded with welcoming and motivational remarks.

The judicium ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Hj. Nurmala, MM, former Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang and a pioneer of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang from its inception until it achieved its current status as a State Higher Education institution. In her speech, she motivated the graduating students to enhance their qualifications in preparation for entering the workforce. According to her, alongside broad knowledge, having good character is equally vital in professional life. She also stated that the graduate employment rate of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang has steadily increased year after year. Nevertheless, she encouraged graduates of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang to pursue entrepreneurship by leveraging the skills acquired during their studies at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang.

The event continued with remarks from the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, Endang Kusmana, SE, MM, Ak, CA . In his address, he noted that the current situation is not yet entirely free from the impacts of the pandemic. He therefore outlined four solutions for navigating post-pandemic job opportunities: transforming graduates' mindset so they have the confidence to change for the better, applying the knowledge acquired in vocational education, capitalizing on the synergy strengthened through link-and-match programs, and pursuing entrepreneurship. Regardless of their chosen path—whether pursuing further education, entering employment, or starting a business—Politeknik Negeri Ketapang will always provide support. (Finan Su)
