Ketapang, 18 August 2026 — Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) (Ketapang State Polytechnic, Politap) officially opened the series of Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, taking place on 18–20 August 2026. The opening was led by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang during the Open Senate Session for the Welcoming of New Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year on Tuesday (18/8/2026).

A total of 427 new students participated in the PKKMB series, which carried the theme “Shaping Adaptive, Character-Driven, and Impactful Vocational Students in the Digital Era.” This theme reflects the orientation's focus on preparing students to face technological advancements and workplace dynamics, while fostering character and social as well as environmental awareness.

In his remarks, the Director of Politap welcomed all new students and encouraged them to make PKKMB a momentum to get to know the higher education environment, build connections, and prepare themselves to undertake vocational education.

“I urge that PKKMB activities be conducted by upholding educational, humanistic, and inclusive principles, oriented toward the development of student character. I hope the entire series of events runs orderly, safely, smoothly, educationally, and provides a positive initial experience for all new students,” stated the Director.

Over the three days of implementation, new students will take part in various briefing sessions and campus life orientation activities. Topics covered include higher education and academic systems, introductions to departments and study programs, student organizations, campus services, campus ethics, character development, national insight, violence and bullying prevention, safety and security, as well as digital literacy.

Students will also explore the Politap environment and diverse student activities as avenues to develop interests, talents, abilities, and networks throughout their education.

Through this PKKMB series, Politap hopes that new students can begin their university life equipped with adequate knowledge and preparedness, growing into adaptive, character-driven, and competent vocational students who are able to create a positive impact in the digital era.
