Tax Center Re-established at Politap, Strengthening Higher Education's Role in Tax Education

Ketapang, 18 August 2026 — Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) has reaffirmed its synergy with the West Kalimantan Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (Kanwil DJP) through the establishment of a Tax Center. The strengthened partnership was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the two parties, held at the Ketapang Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama), Tuesday (18/8/2026).

This partnership follows up on the conclusion of the previous cooperation contract in early 2025. Through the establishment of the Tax Center, Politap and DJP West Kalimantan are renewing collaboration in tax education, assessment, research, and dissemination within the higher education sector and the general public.

The signing ceremony was attended directly by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, Irianto, S.P., S.ST., M.M.A., along with Politap leadership. Representing the DJP were the Head of the West Kalimantan DJP Regional Office, Dudi Efendi Karnawidjaya, and his team, as well as the Head of KPP Pratama Ketapang, Heru Iswahyudi, and staff from KPP Pratama Ketapang.

The establishment of the Tax Center serves as a strategic initiative for Politap to broaden the role of higher education—not merely as an educational institution, but also as a government partner in advancing public tax literacy and awareness. Through the Tax Center, the academic community of Politap will have the opportunity to engage directly in various educational, research, and tax assistance activities.

On this occasion, the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang stated that the re-establishment of the Tax Center represents Politap's commitment to reinforcing higher education's contribution to tax education for both the academic community and the wider public.

“Through this Tax Center, we hope Politap becomes not only a place for gaining education and knowledge, but also capable of making tangible contributions to society. We want students to gain a solid understanding of taxation and actively participate in efforts to improve tax awareness and compliance among the public,” he said.

Looking ahead, the Politap Tax Center will feature various collaborative programs, including public lectures, tax training, joint research and studies, tax seminars or classes, and Tax Center activities. Students will also be engaged through the Relawan Pajak Untuk Negeri (Renjani) tax volunteer program, specifically in providing assistance and guidance for annual tax return (SPT Tahunan) filings.

This student involvement is expected to serve as practical experiential learning while showcasing Politap's contribution to fostering a tax-aware culture. Equipped with the knowledge and experience gained through the Tax Center, students are envisioned to become ambassadors of tax education both on campus and in society.

Through this partnership, Politap remains committed to strengthening collaboration with the DJP to support increased tax literacy, awareness, and compliance. The Tax Center's presence is expected not only to benefit the academic community, but also to deliver tangible contributions to the people of Ketapang Regency and support regional as well as national development.
