A series of discussions to build vocational education continues to be formulated by Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) and SMK Negeri 2 Ketapang. On Thursday, 6 August 2020, the Principal of SMKN 2 Ketapang, accompanied by the vice principal, teachers, and public relations staff, visited Politeknik Negeri Ketapang to follow up on the previous meeting at SMKN 2 Ketapang.

Politap and SMKN 2 Ketapang agreed to develop "Building Vocational Education from Villages" through the implementation of a 2-Year Diploma Fast Track class. In the near future, the Director agreed to establish a curriculum alignment team for the 2-Year Diploma fast track program involving Politeknik Negeri Ketapang and SMKN 2 Ketapang.

This 2-Year Diploma Fast Track program naturally involves industry, especially to recruit workers from villages surrounding the industries. If the recruited workforce consists of junior high school graduates, the 2-Year Diploma Fast Track program will be an option, but if they are high school/vocational school graduates, Politap collaboration classes will be the choice. On this occasion, discussions also covered expanding the fast track program with villages to boost community empowerment, particularly in fostering Small and Medium Enterprises or Village-Owned Enterprises.
