KETAPANG – Wednesday (15/02/2023). The Director of Politap, together with the Vice Director for Academic Affairs, Public Relations, and Information Technology lecturers, attended a coordination meeting regarding Smart City as an implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). Held at the Diskominfo office, the meeting was attended by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) along with related regional apparatus organizations (OPD), including Diskominfo, Disparbud, Masata Delta Pawan District, and Disperindagkop.
This coordination meeting discussed Smart Branding related to Smart City as an initial step of collaboration with relevant stakeholders in Ketapang Regency. The main concept aims to build smart regional branding that fosters business competitiveness, business certainty, and a sound business ecosystem. This requires synergy among the steering committee, government, private sector, academia, and the public. In this regard, academia and the public are expected to serve as evaluators in the Smart City development process.
In the Smart City development process, several challenges remain, including human resource development, numerous areas still lacking internet and electricity access (Blank Spot), suboptimal analog and digital tourism promotion, and other issues. Support and collaboration from all parties and related OPD are essential to achieving successful regional Smart Branding in the development of a Smart City in Ketapang Regency. (Dimas G)
