KETAPANG – Wednesday (15/03/2023). Represented by the Vice Director for Student Affairs, Information Systems, and Cooperation, Erick Radwitya and his team, Politap attended the 2023 Business Gathering Day under the theme “Synergizing to support the development of environmentally friendly micro-enterprises to jointly contribute to realizing sustainable land development” as well as the announcement of finalist selection for the second year of the Climate-Friendly People's Business Competition (KURRI).
Held at the Ketapang Regent's Hall, the event was attended by related regional government agencies (SKPD) of Ketapang Regency, including the Agriculture Office, the Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, and the Food Security and Fisheries Office, with the Regent of Ketapang represented by the Ketapang Regent's Expert Staff for Economy, Finance, and Development.
The event was initiated by Tropenbos Indonesia and the Ketapang Regency Regional Government. Director of Tropenbos Indonesia, Edi Purwanto, explained that 14 business actors qualified from the pre-selection stage in July 2022, coming from 8 villages across 4 sub-districts with 8 types of businesses. This number was narrowed down to 7 business actors who qualified as finalists. Tropenbos Indonesia actively encourages and facilitates community business development to realize sustainable landscape management.
Meanwhile, the Ketapang Regent's Expert Staff for Economy, Finance, and Development, Junaidi Firawan, stated, “This KURRI activity was organized to develop MSMEs, especially in the agricultural sector. These MSMEs have the potential to exert a positive impact on the economic, social, and environmental aspects of the region, which in turn supports business development to contribute to resilient landscapes against environmental change.”
In this regard, Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) fully supports the development of local MSMEs and carries out the Higher Education Tridharma, particularly community service which extensively targets MSME actors in Ketapang Regency. This is evident through Politap-mentored MSMEs receiving assistance for business development and guidance in the halal product process for food MSMEs. (Finan Su)
