KETAPANG – Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) held the commemoration of the Mawlid of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1445 H/2023 CE on Wednesday morning, 4 October 2023, at Lecture Building I of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang.
Carrying the theme “Emulating the Morals and Love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW and Shaping Students with Character”, KH. Jema’ie Makmur was present as the preacher alongside students from the Al-Rahman Ketapang Islamic Boarding School.
The event was attended by the Vice Directors, students, and staff within Politap, and was opened directly by the Director of Politap, Irianto SP, S.ST., M.MA.
In his remarks, the Director conveyed that this commemoration was held to serve as a reminder of the exemplary conduct of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and to reflect on his history and struggle in preaching the teachings of Islam.
“Through this commemoration, we can all reflect on his history and struggles in preaching the teachings of monotheism, namely Islam. We also want to take lessons from his life, and emulate the noble qualities of the Prophet shallallahu alaihi wasallam,” he said.
The Director continued, “During this Mawlid event, we will listen to a sermon, recite shalawat, and pray together. Hopefully, through this Mawlid commemoration, we can strengthen our faith and devotion to Allah SWT, and deepen our love for the Prophet Muhammad shallallahu alaihi wasallam.”
After the event concluded, the Director along with the Vice Directors invited KH. Jema’ie to view the construction progress of Politap's campus mosque, Daarul Ilmi. Led by KH. Jema’ie, the Director and Vice Directors offered prayers so that the construction of the mosque runs smoothly and is continually blessed by Allah SWT. (Finan Su)
