The 2020 Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) Internal Grant Research and Community Service Results Seminar held at Nevada Hotel Ketapang on Wednesday (16/12) was attended by 9 researchers and 4 community service implementers consisting of lecturers from various disciplines and study programs at Politap. This seminar was chaired by Maya Santi, S,Pd., MT., who also serves as Head of the Center for Research and Community Service (P3KM). The seminar also featured Endro Setiawan from Universitas Nasional, a researcher from the Gunung Palung National Park Office, as a speaker in the Sharing Session. Local government representatives in attendance included Distanak, Diskominfo, Bappeda, Dinas Kesehatan, and Diskoperindag of Ketapang Regency.
Endang Kusmana as Director of Politap stated that this seminar was in its second year, and its purpose was to report the final results of each researcher and community service implementer so they could be published and disseminated to the wider community. The research results are also required to be published in national or international journals, whether accredited or unaccredited but institutionally reputable. Furthermore, Endang stated that such events are rarely held, which is why collaboration among higher education institutions, local governments, and industry is crucial. Up until now, research has often ended at journal publication; going forward, downstreaming of the conducted research is expected. This year's budget has produced 21 research titles and 12 community service titles, with efforts to increase this number each year. Politap has also established a journal management team ready to accommodate research journals from both internal and external contributors, and recently formed an IPR center for intellectual property generated from research and products. It is hoped that SME products can be registered in the future, with Politap serving as a consultant for these products so they can be legally protected and hold economic value. There were 30 SMEs invited to share their potential and challenges so that appropriate technology can be created in the future. @u2d
