The Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic), Endang Kusmana, officially opened the implementation of the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) for the Even Semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year on Thursday, 13 August 2020, virtually. Head of P4MP Sy. Indra Septiansyah stated that this AMI activity is a mandate of Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, which emphasizes the importance of implementing higher education quality assurance. The main objective of AMI is to obtain recommendations for quality improvement and ensure accountability by identifying findings or discrepancies between higher education delivery at the Study Program level and the standards set in the SPMI of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Politap).

P4MP Quality Assurance Coordinator Dian Fitriarni stated that the implementation of AMI is supported by a selected team of auditors with integrity, drawn from various Study Programs at Politap. AMI activities encompass monitoring, evaluation, and auditing. To ensure the smooth running of the internal quality audit process, according to Dian, the 2020 Internal Quality Audit (AMI) Instrument has been formulated. Monitoring, evaluation, and auditing at the study program level cover Diploma III and Applied Bachelor's Study Programs, referring to 9 BAN PT accreditation criteria, namely: 1. Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Strategy; 2. Governance, Management, and Cooperation; 3. Students; 4. Human Resources; 5. Finance, Facilities, and Infrastructure; 6. Education; 7. Research; 8. Community Service; 9. Outputs and Achievements of the Tridharma.

Meanwhile, Head of P4MP Indra added that implementation guidelines for the SPMI Internal Quality Audit (AMI) are established for each Study Program at Politap annually. This Internal Quality Audit is carried out as Politap's continuous internal quality assurance responsibility toward Politap's SPMI achievements. In addition, AMI serves as preparation for the External Quality Assurance System (SPME) by BAN PT every 5 (five) years, as well as preparation for evaluations by overseas certification and accreditation bodies. It is expected that the SPMI internal quality audit results will provide effective input for understanding education delivery and the implementation of National Education Standards, as well as driving continuous quality improvements of Higher Education National Standards across academic units at Politap.

Meanwhile, Director of Politap Endang Kusmana affirmed that the momentum of this Internal Quality Audit (AMI) activity is an effort to foster a Quality Culture in every activity through systematic Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement. Endang added that AMI activities are conducted to capture the actual condition of each study program so that they can continue to be developed to meet quality standards. For this year during the COVID-19 pandemic, Politap is conducting the internal quality audit online by leveraging information technology through the Quality Assurance Management Information System (Simantu).
