On Friday, 29 January 2021, the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) conducted a working visit to the Amplang Production House and Gallery Building located on Jalan Letkol M. Tohir, Tengah Urban Village, Delta Pawan District, Ketapang Regency. The Director's delegation was received by the Head of Tengah Urban Village and the Community Self-Help Group (KSM). The Amplang production house and Gallery Building serve as a souvenir center in Ketapang to be managed by Tengah Urban Village KSM as a partner of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang.
The Head of Tengah Urban Village stated that the amplang production house and gallery building are infrastructure initiatives under the 2020 City Without Slums (Kotaku) Community-Based Livelihood Improvement (PPMK) program, a sustainable initiative under the Kotaku program. According to him, the construction of the production house and gallery building is part of the Kotaku program, representing community-based economic empowerment carried out by the Community Self-Help Group (KSM).
Meanwhile, Director of Politap Endang Kusmana conveyed that his institution is ready to partner with MSMEs in managing the amplang production house and Graha Ale-Ale. According to him, the Production House and Graha Ale-Ale represent the application of the livelihood concept—a sustainable livelihood approach needed by individuals and communities to sustain their lives by leveraging capacities, skills, and resource ownership (assets) to achieve the expected standard of living through collective efforts. In addition, this livelihood approach is regarded by the community as a form of empowerment, where community members are supported to explore their potential, identify village opportunities, and understand the problems, challenges, and future vision they face. Therefore, Politap will soon realize a partnership program with KSM through training and the application of appropriate technology.
