Held in the Director's meeting room on 6 February 2020, an information session on internships in Japan was conducted. The event, opened by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic), was attended by the Vice Directors, Center Heads, and Heads of Departments within Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. This event featured three resource persons from Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja (LPK) Borneo Raya Khatulistiwa, namely Andi Irawan, Arfino Aswandi, and Anzai Ayaka from Japan. Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja (LPK) Borneo Raya Khatulistiwa is a vocational training institution aiming to develop human resources by running internship programs to Japan and coordinating activities for Indonesian trainees.

In his remarks, the Director stated that the internship program is very important for students and is a flagship program in improving the quality of learning and student affairs. His administration has prepared a budget for overseas internships since 2019; two students were even selected for an internship in the Philippines, although technical reasons on the host side prevented the program from being carried out. Therefore, the Director will continue to support all activities related to improving the quality of learning and student affairs.

In his presentation, Andi Irawan, as Director of LPK Borneo Raya Khatulistiwa, stated that his institution offers opportunities for students of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang to intern in Japan through established procedures. The institution has extensive experience, having dispatched student interns to Japan from several campuses. The Director of Politap welcomed this program warmly, affirming Politap's readiness to facilitate and provide access for its students to intern at companies in Japan.
