Student organizations (Ormawa) of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) held a volunteer fundraising campaign for flood victims in Nanga Tayap District and surrounding areas on Tuesday afternoon (07/09/21).

This activity is a form of humanitarian solidarity from the Student Executive Board (BEM) and other student organizations (Ormawa), namely department student associations (HMJ) and student activity units (UKM). This campaign will take place over two days across four locations: the Agusjam Regional Public Hospital Intersection, the Ketapang Police Headquarters Intersection, Ketapang City Park, and the MT. Haryono Intersection.

Sarimin, Head of BEM Politap, stated, “Through this humanitarian action, our hope is certainly for students and youth in general. As agents of change, students must have social sensitivity concerning the wider public, thereby fostering students who care about the common good,” he said.

He also added that Politeknik Negeri Ketapang strongly appreciates all positive student activities such as this, particularly from the Student Affairs Working Group (POKJA). Hairian Rahmadi hoped that moving forward, students will be more sensitive to social causes and prioritize conscience, he stated. (izi)
