Following the commencement of the 2024 National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) stages marked by the registration of school and student SNPMB accounts since 8 January 2024, the Outreach and Promotion (SOSPRO) Team of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) (Ketapang State Polytechnic, Politap) has been actively conducting outreach and promotions to vocational and senior high schools (SMK/SMA equivalent) across Ketapang Regency and North Kayong Regency (KKU).
The outreach and promotion activities were carried out both digitally and through direct visits to several schools in Ketapang, including those located quite far from downtown Ketapang. SMA Negeri 1 Kendawangan was the first school visited by the Politap SOSPRO Team during the 2024 SNPMB Outreach and Promotion activities. This was followed by a visit to SMK Negeri 1 Sukadana, North Kayong Regency, and then continued to other schools across Ketapang.
This outreach and promotion activity is part of a commitment to provide 12th-grade SMA/SMK students, especially those in areas distant from downtown Ketapang, with an understanding of the importance of pursuing higher education. Through this outreach, Politap also introduces prospective students to the registration mechanisms, including SNBP, SNBT, and the Independent Track.

For the 2024/2025 Academic Year New Student Admission, Politap will accept 484 new students, comprising 152 from the SNBP track, 210 from the SNBT track, and 122 from the Independent track.
Politap is committed to providing equitable access for prospective students from all socioeconomic backgrounds through the UKT (single tuition fee) system and KIP Kuliah scholarships. Therefore, this outreach and promotion event also provided information regarding KIP Kuliah scholarships, particularly for students facing financial constraints to pursue higher education.
The Head of the Politap SNPMB Committee, Anugrah Bayu Saputra, expressed his hope that prospective students obtain detailed information about Politap and will not hesitate to choose Politap as their preferred college to pursue higher education.
“It is hoped that through this outreach activity, prospective students, especially those from Ketapang Regency, will not hesitate to choose Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. In addition to well-equipped teaching and learning facilities, Politap is the only state higher education institution (PTN) in Ketapang Regency that has been accredited 'Baik' (Good),” he stated.
According to Bayu, the students showed great enthusiasm while listening to the presentation delivered by the Politap SOSPRO Team.
“This year, the Politap Outreach and Promotion team visited SMA/SMK schools across Ketapang Regency and North Kayong Regency. The students were very enthusiastic about learning about the SNBP admission track and KIP Kuliah. Meanwhile, regarding the SNBT track, they were relieved to learn that Politap serves as a sub-organizer for the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK), meaning students wishing to compete through the SNBT track no longer need to travel to Pontianak to sit for the test,” he said.
