The Department of Plantation Product Management, specifically the Applied Bachelor's (D-IV) Plantation Crop Cultivation Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic), held a webinar on 10 August 2020 themed “Techno-Precision Plant Fertilization Towards Agriculture 4.0”. This webinar was the 8th series of Vocational Education Strengthens Identity organized by Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, which was attended by 163 registered participants.

The webinar was opened by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, Endang Kusmana. In his opening remarks, the Director expressed his hope that the materials delivered by the speakers would enrich the participants' knowledge, especially insights into Techno-Precision Plant Fertilization Towards Agriculture 4.0. This is closely related to the context of Politap being located in Ketapang Regency, which is surrounded by the oil palm plantation industry. With the presence of the oil palm plantation industry in Ketapang Regency, the link and match between higher education and industry can be synergized by improving competent human resource development, so that the oil palm plantation industry in Ketapang Regency can absorb graduates from Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, particularly from the D-IV Plantation Crop Cultivation Study Program.

This webinar featured speakers including Prof. Dr. Ir Anas D. Susila, M.Si from the Plant Production Division, Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, IPB University. From the presentation delivered, it can be concluded that the techno-precision concept represents agriculture driven by advanced technology, in which crops are fertilized according to their individual needs and adapted to specific regional or soil conditions, ultimately benefiting farmers in creating sustainable agriculture with efficient fertilizer use. The second speaker, Andi Rusnadi, SP, Afdeling Assistant at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIII, delivered material on oil palm cultivation and the concept of efficient fertilization emphasizing the right method, right dosage, right timing, right type, and right administration.
