KETAPANG – Thursday (11/08/2022). An information session for the Wirausaha Merdeka Program was held by Politeknik Negeri Batam for students of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic). Politeknik Negeri Batam is one of the campuses assigned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to organize this program.
Endang Kusmana, Director of Politap, welcomed this program, stating that it represents one of the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) that the polytechnic must achieve to support the Ministry's strategic plan, which has been cascaded into Politap's strategic plan. Therefore, he encouraged Politap students to participate optimally in this program.
According to the resource person from Politeknik Negeri Batam, Nanik Lestari, the scheme and development flow of the Wirausaha Merdeka Program at Politeknik Negeri Batam utilizes the Project Based Learning (PBL) method. This program uses projects/activities as learning media. Participants will carry out exploration, assessment, interpretation, synthesis, and information gathering to generate various entrepreneurship-based outputs. Students must produce artifacts/products to demonstrate their mastery of the content.
Nanik added that the PBL ecosystem will integrate learning from all study programs and departments to align, participate in, and recognize activities in course credits that intersect with and relate to student business development. This course integration will accommodate all participating study programs, departments, and other higher education institutions, thereby making a vital contribution to MBK. The implementation of the program will be assisted by trained human resources in their fields. Monitoring and evaluation are carried out in stages and per activity output. In addition to the project-based learning process, other activities will also be conducted, such as coaching and mentoring sessions, business networking workshops with other entrepreneurs to enhance motivation and entrepreneurial competence, as well as the establishment of strategic relationships between participating students and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, there is the Pesta Wirausaha Merdeka event where higher education institutions will send student tenants, as well as business matching and pitching competitions to improve competence and test the market feasibility of the products.
