KETAPANG – Monday (21/08/2023). Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) symbolically handed over educational scholarships to students of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) during a gathering of Politap leadership with parents/guardians of new students, held in the 2nd Floor Hall of the Politeknik Negeri Ketapang Directorate Building. The scholarship handover was witnessed directly by the Director of Politap, accompanied by the Vice Director for General Affairs and Finance and the Vice Director for Student Affairs. The scholarships were awarded to 11 economically underprivileged students with high academic achievements.

Politap currently has a total of 1,404 students. Among them, some come from economically disadvantaged families yet are not recipients of the KIP Kuliah scholarship. Observing the situation of these students, and recognizing their determination to pursue higher education for a better future, Politap collaborated with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to provide scholarship assistance to students across various study programs who are economically underprivileged and maintain good academic records.

The Director of Politap, Irianto SP, S.ST., M.MA., expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Bank Syariah Indonesia for providing scholarship assistance to high-achieving Politap students from underprivileged backgrounds.

“As Director, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the management of Bank BSI for providing scholarship assistance to students who are economically disadvantaged,” he stated.

“Certainly, programs such as this help address the issue of students dropping out at Politap,” he added.

Politeknik Negeri Ketapang plays a strategic role as a vocational higher education institution and a center for applied technology development, primarily in western Indonesia and specifically in Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan. Politap requires serious and systematic efforts to ensure sustainable development so that it can make increasingly meaningful contributions to development across Indonesia. Graduates of Politap are expected to possess skills and expertise in applied technology aligned with the needs of the community and industry at local, national, and international scales.

The Director hopes that these students will motivate themselves to continue achieving and become reliable professionals in their respective fields. With this scholarship support, economically underprivileged students can continue their studies to completion without financial obstacles. (Finan Su)
