KETAPANG – Based on the Decree of the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) Number: 986/PL39/KP/AK/2023, Politap formed a graduate tracking program (tracer study) management team.
The establishment of this team aims to maximize the graduate tracking program. Later, these data will be used as an alumni database and to build networks with alumni, serve as evaluation material to improve academic programs at Politap, design various quality improvement initiatives, and even refine regulations.
In addition, one indicator of success in the vocational education process can be seen from the graduates' contribution to society. The value of vocational education graduates can be observed through the results of graduate tracking, commonly known as a tracer study.
Quoting from the Directorate General of Vocational Education, a tracer study or alumni tracking study is research aimed at alumni of an educational institution. The goal is to determine whether the competencies possessed by the alumni align with the needs of the business and industrial world.
During a coordination meeting on Friday (27/10/2023), the Vice Director for Student Affairs as the team leader directed each Study Program to periodically distribute tracer study questionnaires to alumni every three months.
This research will be conducted via a tracer study questionnaire web link sent directly to alumni contact points. Each Study Program will be coordinated by its respective study program administrator.
Politap hopes that alumni will cooperate in completing the tracer study questionnaire to ensure the success of this program so that its objectives can be achieved. This means alumni also play a vital role in improving the quality of education at their alma mater. (Finan Su)
