A total of 25 POLITAP students were inaugurated as tax volunteers within the Ketapang Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama Ketapang). The inauguration was led directly by the Head of KPP Pratama Ketapang, Hanis Purwanto, on Monday (02/03/2020).

The rundown of the inauguration ceremony was as follows:
1. Singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and prayer,
2. Brief presentation by the head of the office, Hanis Purwanto,
3. Reading of the code of conduct led by tax volunteer cohort leader Ms. Ratih Karmia,
4. Pinning of name tags as an official symbol of appointment as tax volunteers,
5. Signing of the code of conduct by student representatives,
6. Group photo session,
7. Technical briefing by the head coordinator of tax volunteers, Daniel Benhart,
8. Distribution of name tags and collective signing of the code of conduct.

On that occasion, the Head of KPP Pratama Ketapang stated that tax affairs cannot be left solely to tax authorities, adding that synergy from all stakeholders is needed, including higher education institutions and their students. He hoped that with the assistance of tax volunteers, public tax awareness would continue to increase.

“That is the coolest part of being a student. You all play a role in helping the public understand taxation, file annual tax returns (SPT), and make payments. Congratulations! We truly appreciate it,” he said.
All of these students will be assigned to the Ketapang Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama Ketapang). The presence of the tax volunteers is considered a tremendous help to tax officials, whose numbers are still insufficient to serve all taxpayers.

Meanwhile, on a separate occasion, the Vice Director for Student Affairs representing the Director of POLITAP expressed pride in the students willing to get involved as tax volunteers. These students play an important role in managing the country, especially in terms of tax revenue, which serves as the primary pillar of state income. Furthermore, the Vice Director for Student Affairs stated, “This tax volunteer program serves as education for both students and the public that the campus acts as an extension of the state in serving as good citizens, demonstrated through compliance in tax reporting,” he said.
