Politap Affirms Commitment to Continue the Fight for PNS Status for Lecturers and Staff

Jakarta, 23 May 2025 – Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) affirmed its commitment to continuously escort the struggle of lecturers and educational staff with PPPK status to obtain Civil Servant (PNS) status. This statement followed a national peaceful demonstration on 21 May 2025 and a strategic meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, on 22 May 2025.

Coordinator of ILP Politap, Normansyah, S.T., M.T., conveyed that the entire academic community fully supports this national movement. “Our struggle is not over yet. The PNS appointment decree is not merely an administrative demand, but a matter of justice for those who have served for a long time,” he said.

During the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology acknowledged the disparities experienced by PPPK lecturers and educational staff, ranging from hindered advanced studies to limited access to structural positions. He affirmed his commitment to encouraging a resolution through official inter-ministerial channels.

Politap, along with 34 other PTNB, also actively participates in the national ILP coordination. A spirit of unity and consolidation is key to ensuring that the struggle does not stall halfway.

“We cannot let our guard down, nor can we act individually. All ministry measures must continue to be monitored,” emphasized the campus ILP representative.

Meanwhile, the campus media team has been instructed to actively voice the struggle across digital spaces. Documentation of the peaceful protest, ministry meeting outcomes, and coordination with presidential spokespersons will continue to be amplified to maintain the attention of the public and policymakers. “No viral, no justice,” they stressed.

Politeknik Negeri Ketapang also calls on all its members to remain active on social media, maintain collective spirit, avoid internal conflict, and stand ready to contribute further to achieving this shared goal. (finn)
