Ketapang, 21 May 2025 — In an effort to enhance the quality of learning relevant to the world of work, SMK Negeri 2 Ketapang held an In House Training (IHT) focusing on the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. Notably, this training brought in lecturers directly from the Information Technology Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) (Ketapang State Polytechnic, Politap) as the primary resource persons and facilitators.
During the three-day training, around 30 teachers from SMKN 2 Ketapang received theoretical instruction and practical exercises in formulating project-based lesson plans. Politap lecturers not only presented material on PjBL concepts, but also intensively guided the process of developing teaching modules to align with vocational school characteristics and industry needs.
The presence of the lecturer team from Politap was a significant value-add in this training, given the institution's strong competencies in information technology and innovative instructional approaches. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the synergy between secondary vocational education and higher vocational education in Ketapang.
“We greatly appreciate the involvement of Politap lecturers in this training. The knowledge and experience they shared have been extremely helpful for teachers in understanding and designing project-based learning in a concrete and applicable way,” said a representative of SMKN 2 Ketapang.
This activity is part of the SMK Center of Excellence program and was supported by Erlangga Publisher, serving as a strategic step in strengthening the transformation of vocational education to become more contextual, productive, and adaptable to modern developments. (finn)
