On Wednesday, 15 June 2022, a technical guidance session on halal product certification assistance for Ketapang Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was held in the Hall of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic). This event was a collaboration between Politeknik Negeri Ketapang and Bank Kalbar Syariah Ketapang.
Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang Endang Kusmana stated in his opening remarks that this activity reflects Politap's support for Ketapang MSMEs in implementing the outcomes of education, research, and community service. The Director of Politap mentioned that the institution currently has lecturers certified as halal product companions who are eager to assist MSMEs so that their products attain higher quality in the market.
Meanwhile, the Head of Bank Kalbar Syariah Ketapang, Muh. Rudi, welcomed the collaboration with Politap to enhance the economic value of local products, stating that Bank Kalbar Syariah, as a regional government-owned bank, is ready to support MSME development.
The Head of the Organizing Committee, Martanto, reported that this technical guidance on halal product assistance was attended by 50 MSME participants in Ketapang. Among them, 25 MSMEs signed mentoring cooperation agreements, namely those prepared to take advantage of the free halal certification (Sehati) program from the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJH) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. According to Martanto, Politap currently has lecturers with competence in supervising, assisting, and auditing halal products as part of community service, he explained.
