Held at the Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) campus on Saturday, 23 January 2021, the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang and Roni Bia Santo from Ruang Peduli Kalbar Ruangguru organized a virtual Ruang Peduli Kalbar talk show via Zoom. The event was attended by teachers and students from across West Kalimantan.
During the event, Endang Kusmana presented the program "Politap Building Vocational Education from Villages" as a flagship initiative to improve West Kalimantan's Human Development Index, while Roni Bia Santo presented findings from his visit to Karimata Island as an expression of Ruang Peduli Kalbar's concern for communities in outermost regions needing access to education.
Endang explained that the program "Politap Building Vocational Education from Villages" is implemented through Access Villages, Synergy Villages, Excellent Villages, and Tourism Villages. These four initiatives provide opportunities for village residents with interests and talents to develop their passions in higher education. During the event, Endang proposed offering scholarships to residents of Karimata Island to continue their studies at Politap, with the obligation that graduates return to develop their villages. This was warmly welcomed by Roni, whose team will promptly follow up by sharing information with Karimata Island residents who wish to continue their studies at Politap.
