Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) sent two tumpeng to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the Directorate General of Vocational Education. The two tumpeng were created by employees of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. Encik Eko Ripkowaty, Vice Director for General Affairs and Finance, stated that the two tumpeng submitted via YouTube were Politap creations emphasizing the exploration of local ingredients found around Ketapang. According to her, these tumpeng were designed considering the balance of nutritional value, alternative rice substitutes, as well as creative aesthetic and harmonious arrangement.
The Delta Pawan Tumpeng was created by Politap staff led by Heni, Amanda, Lita, and Shela, featuring sweet potato as the main ingredient to replace rice, accompanied by side toppings including mackerel satay, a specialty dish of Ketapang city residents; renyok, a Ketapang specialty dried fish providing a crispy texture; banana blossom floss created by staff whose nutritional content has been researched; ferns, a type of vegetable easily found in oil palm plantations; and belidak fish crackers, a typical Ketapang souvenir harvested from the Pawan River. According to Heni, this tumpeng took various elements into consideration, particularly highlighting the potential of Ketapang Regency.
Meanwhile, the second tumpeng, the Ale-Ale Tumpeng, was created by Politap staff led by A. Yani, Rahmadi, and M.Fadli. This tumpeng conveyed a message about the city's mascot, with Ketapang known as the city of ale-ale (clams). This tumpeng featured kepok or nipah bananas as the main ingredient to replace rice, using Dayak onion (bawang mekah) as a natural coloring agent, which students have researched for its beneficial properties. The toppings featured ale-ale (clam) serundeng; oil palm mushroom fritters, a commodity easily found in Ketapang's oil palm plantations; banana blossom floss; seluang fish, found in the Pawan River; geranti chili sauce; and singkil or buas-buas shoots as creative additions to complete the tumpeng menu. Endang Kusmana, Director of Politap, who accompanied the staff during the video recording process of making the tumpeng, warmly welcomed the creations of the staff, expressing hope that available natural resources developed with the touch of technology by lecturers and students can provide added value to the community.
