Politap Equips Graduates with Mandarin Language Skills

The Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) conducted a working visit to Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Harapan Bersama Pontianak on Friday, 9 October 2020. The Director was received by the Head of Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Harapan Bersama, Albert Surya Wibowo, and the Chairman of Yayasan Harapan Bersama, Hartono Azas. This language college focuses on Mandarin language development.

This visit was in follow-up to industry needs identified through industry surveys conducted during curriculum development as well as the Director's working visits to several industries, which showed that Mandarin language competence is one of the essential skills needed by Politeknik Negeri Ketapang graduates, considering the large number of industries requiring Mandarin proficiency.

During the visit, discussions centered on institutional cooperation, specifically for Mandarin language development at Politap alongside information technology development at Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Harapan Bersama. Both parties agreed to follow up on the meeting by signing a more operational cooperation agreement that can be implemented immediately.
