Politap Holds PKKMB Online

Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) held the PKKMB (Campus Life Introduction for New Students) for the SNMPN, SBMPN, and Mandiri admission tracks online. This was conducted following directives from the Minister of Education and Culture given the unfeasible conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

PKKMB was held on 1-3 September 2020 and ran for 3 days starting from 08:00 to 16:20 WIB. The implementation of PKKMB was conducted online via webinars using the Zoom application and taking attendance online. There were no specific requirements or rules like in previous years other than an appeal for new students to wear neat and casual mandatory attire during the PKKMB event.

This year's PKKMB featured several speakers as in previous years consisting of the administration, namely the Vice Director for Academic Affairs, Vice Director for General Affairs and Finance, Vice Director for Student Affairs, and Kesbangpollinmas. This year's PKKMB adopted the theme “Through PKKMB during the Covid-19 Period We Realize the Merdeka Belajar Program Towards Achieving Quality Education” which will be examined in detail in the core sessions on fostering idealism, instilling national awareness, strengthening love for the homeland, and environmental care, thereby raising awareness of radicalism, terrorism, and other issues.

Furthermore, the Director of Politap explained, “The primary hope is perhaps more toward new students' understanding of what Politap is, how academic activities proceed at Politap, and so forth, so that they can adapt more easily even though it is held online.”
