Politap Organizes Written Exam for 2021 Simultaneous Village Head Election Candidates

Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) was entrusted by the Ketapang Regency Community Empowerment and Village Government Office to organize the written selection examination for Village Head candidates in Ketapang Regency. The agreement was formalized in a cooperation agreement dated 26 April 2021 between the Director of Politap and the Head of the Ketapang Regency Community Empowerment and Village Government Office. The written examination will be held on 24 May 2021 at the Politeknik Negeri Ketapang Campus, attended by 164 participants under capacity restrictions and health protocols.

Director of Politap Endang Kusmana expressed gratitude to the Regional Government for the trust placed in Politap as the only state higher education institution in Ketapang. According to Endang, his institution possesses the capacity and experience in administering tests, especially for new students admission, and would even be very prepared if the test were conducted using Computer Based Tests; however, this year the written exam is being conducted manually.

Martanto, as the Head of the Politap Written Exam Committee, stated that his team had assigned several competent lecturers to formulate exam questions on  Village Governance and Village Government Laws,  Public Services, Civic Education, Pancasila and the Constitution, Anti-Corruption Knowledge, personality, and general knowledge. Furthermore, we received the list of participants from the Ketapang Regency Community Empowerment and Village Government Office, and later the exam results processed by computer will be submitted to the Office. Martanto added that each participant will receive questions in a different randomized order.

Briefing on completing the written exam has been carried out starting from 22 May 2021, and all committee members have signed an integrity pact.

Meanwhile, Head of the Village Government Division at the Ketapang Regency Community Empowerment and Village Government Office, Remanus Romawi, separately stated that this simultaneous village head election is being held for 91 villages. Regarding initial preparations, starting from Regency-level preparatory meetings, the formation of village-level committees to the establishment of the polling committee (PPS) have been completed. Specifically, village-level committees, Romawi added, originate from the villages organizing the election. Their formation was carried out by the Village Consultative Body (BPD).  The committee consists of seven members, comprising village officials, Village Community Institutions (LKD), and community figures. According to Romawi, village-level committees have been formed, beginning on 19 March over a five-day duration, and by 25 March 2021, the PPS had already been established. Regarding the implementation of the 2021 Village Head Election, he noted it differs from previous elections. This year's election does not permit a single candidate. If there is only one candidate, the registration process is extended for 20 days. In addition, if there are more than five candidates, an academic selection (written exam) is conducted by the Regency committee in collaboration with Politeknik Negeri Ketapang.
