The 2019 research dissemination seminar for Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) lecturers was conducted differently from previous years, this time involving local government elements, particularly from the Regional Research and Development Agency (Balitbangda) of Ketapang Regency, the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bapeda) of Ketapang Regency, and related agencies. The seminar was held on Thursday, 19 December 2019 at the Asana Nevada Hotel Ketapang and attended by Politap leadership, heads of centers, Heads of Departments, Study Program Coordinators, lecturers, students, and invitees from the Ketapang Regency Regional Government.

Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, Endang Kusmana, in his opening remarks, stated that Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, founded on the initiative of the Regional Government, DPRD, and community figures of Ketapang Regency, aims to assist the local government in improving community welfare through education, research, and community service. Through this research dissemination seminar, it is hoped that the research findings of Politap lecturers can be utilized by the community to improve welfare, and for the local government, it is expected to drive the realization of a regional innovation laboratory.

Endang added that he does not want lecturer research results to end merely as reports or scientific journals, but rather to reach the community and provide added value for the public.

Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Research and Community Service (P3KM) of Politap, Maya Santi, conveyed that this research seminar featured 16 lecturer research titles funded by Politap's budget allocation (DIPA), covering research fields tailored to community needs. As an initial stage this year, they only invited the local government; next year, they plan to cluster research outcomes more specifically by inviting industry representatives, village heads, and other relevant stakeholders with topics suited to their needs so the results will be easy to implement.

The Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang added that for the 2020 research period, Politap will further enhance communication and collaboration with the Ketapang Regency Regional Government, particularly to support the establishment of an Innovation Laboratory (Labinov) in Ketapang Regency. Politap is ready to collaborate in executing the stages of establishing an Innovation Laboratory—namely Drum up, Diagnose, Design, Delivery and Display—so that the local government's goal to realize One OPD One  Innovation can be achieved, ultimately ensuring that research results from Politap lecturers provide added value for the people of Ketapang Regency.
