Politap Students Excel at West Kalimantan Archery Competition

Students of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) have once again triumphed in archery at the West Kalimantan Creative Komsos Archery Competition organized by Kodim 1207/BS Pontianak, held on 26 to 27 September 2020 in Pontianak. Politap Archery (Polarc) coach Hairian Rahmadi stated that Politap students' achievements in archery have been consistently maintained despite limited preparation due to COVID-19 conditions.

This archery competition was participated in by archers across West Kalimantan. Politap Archery excelled in the Standard Bow category, with Tami (D3 Information Technology Study Program) taking 2nd place and Algi (D3 Electrical Technology Study Program) taking 4th place. Meanwhile, in the House Bow category, Politap Archery achieved 1st place through Yayuk Sakinah (D3 Agroindustry alumna) and 4th place through Hafifah (D3 Information Technology Study Program).

Vice Director for Student Affairs Epriyandi warmly welcomed the achievements of Politap's archers and the sustained dominance of Politap as a powerhouse of reliable archers in West Kalimantan. He encouraged Politap students to continue advancing their archery achievements to higher levels, both nationally and internationally, as achieved in 2019 when they won an archery competition in Kuching, Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Director Endang Kusmana hoped that athlete development in archery would be expanded by scouting top talent from the elementary school to secondary school levels to continue their studies at Politap by providing scholarships for prospective students with sports achievements, particularly in archery, and pledged to provide the necessary sports facilities.
