Preparing Reliable Graduates, Politap Holds Construction Engineering Webinar

Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) once again held Series 2 of its Webinar under the Vocational Program Strengthening Identity. This time, the Applied Bachelor's Road and Bridge Study Program, Department of Civil Engineering organized a webinar with the topic “Developing Reliable Applied Bachelors in the Field of Construction Engineering” on Wednesday, 15 July 2020. The webinar was attended by more than 350 participants, including 56.3% students, 15.2% consultants, 10.7% lecturers, and the remaining 17.8% consisting of contractors, developers, employees, and others.

Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang Endang Kusmana opened the webinar. In his opening remarks, Endang stated that collaboration between industry, higher education institutions, and the government is the key to the success of vocational education. To this end, his institution continues to make working visits to various industries to propose to the industry to quickly "marry" vocational education. According to him, since its establishment, Politeknik Negeri Ketapang has always had good relations with industry, but the stage is still limited to "dating." Therefore, it is hoped that in the near future, they will immediately launch a collaborative program involving the polytechnic, industry, and local government.

This webinar featured speakers namely Prof. Ir. Yoyong Arfiadi., M.Eng., Ph.D, Rector of Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, with the topic "Optimization Techniques with Genetic Algorithms" and Boby Culius Ertanto , ST, MT, M,Eng, Founder of PT.Triatma Truntum Konstruksindo, with the topic "Important Aspects in Building Structural Planning."
