A total of 5 (five) lecturers from Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) participated in the Seminar on Research and Community Service Results (Sehati Abdimas) organized by the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) of Politeknik Negeri Sambas on Friday, 29 November 2019 at the Dangau Resort Hotel, Singkawang City. The seminar carried the theme “Innovation and Implementation of Technology for Society Towards an Advanced Indonesia”.
This national seminar was attended by lecturers from Politeknik Negeri Sambas as the host, STKIP Singkawang, Singkawang Community Academy, Sultan Syafiudin Islamic Institute (IAIS Sambas), the National Institute of Science and Technology, and Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. According to Theresia Widji, the head of the committee for this National Seminar, there were 56 paper titles to be presented in the seminar, consisting of 30 research paper titles and 26 community service paper titles. This national seminar was opened by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Sambas, Mahyus, SPd, SE, MM. Present were the Regional Secretary of Singkawang City, Drs. H. Sumastro, M.Si, representing the Mayor of Singkawang as Invited Speaker, and Dr. Suryono, S.Si., M.Si, from Universitas Diponegoro as Keynote Speaker.
Endang Kusmana, Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang who attended the event, stated that he fully supports Politap lecturers who wish to participate in publishing research results. Regarding Sehati Abdimas initiated by Politeknik Negeri Sambas, his institution supports every effort to improve the quality of research and community service so that these research and PKM outcomes are more beneficial to the public. According to him, especially for polytechnics as applied higher education institutions, lecturers' research and PKM results must prioritize innovation to improve public welfare.
During this event, 2 Politap lecturers, Idris Herkan Afandi, S.Pd, MT and Encik Eko Rifkowaty, were selected as the best presenters in their respective fields.
