Ketapang, 27 April 2026 – In commemoration of its 18th Anniversary, Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) successfully organized a futsal tournament that brought together high school/vocational school (SMA/SMK/MA) students and inter-study program/department college students across Ketapang Regency and Kayong Utara Regency. The event, held from 20 to 27 April 2026, became one of the flagship programs that not only showcased athletic competition, but also strengthened the spirit of togetherness, solidarity, and sportsmanship among the younger generation.
The tournament was joined by dozens of teams from various high schools/vocational schools as well as student representatives from various study programs and departments. From the first day, the matches were fiercely contested with high intensity in every game. Full support from the spectators also created a vibrant, energetic atmosphere, making every match even more thrilling to watch.
Each match featured tight competition, with playing strategies and individual quality continuously improving from round to round. Beyond striving for victory, the tournament also served as a venue for character building. Values such as discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fighting spirit were nurtured through every match played.
Interaction among participants from various schools and study programs fostered opportunities for collaboration and expanded social networks among youth. This aligns with the spirit of the Anniversary, which not only celebrates the milestone of the institution, but also reinforces its meaningful contributions to the community.
The closing ceremony concluded with the awarding of trophies and honors to the winners, accompanied by an atmosphere of emotion and pride from all participants. The organizing committee hopes this event will continue as an annual agenda that grows larger, more competitive, and increasingly impactful.
In his remarks, the Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang stated that this event was organized not only to enliven the Anniversary celebration, but also as a platform for talent cultivation and youth character building through sports.
“Through this tournament, we hope to foster the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and strengthen the bonds between high school and college students in the Ketapang and Kayong Utara regions,” he said.
Through this 18th Anniversary futsal tournament, Politeknik Negeri Ketapang once again affirmed its role as an educational institution that focuses not only on academic aspects, but also actively develops the interests, talents, and character of local youth.
With the conclusion of this tournament, it is hoped that the spirit built will not stop on the pitch, but will continue to thrive in the participants' daily lives as a foundation for achieving greater accomplishments in the future.
