Monday (11/01/2021). The National Selection for State Polytechnic Admissions across Indonesia has officially opened, as 44 State Polytechnics nationwide officially opened the admission pathway for new students through the National Selection for State Polytechnic Admissions (SNMPN), held online via Zoom and YouTube Live. The launching of SNMPN 2021 was attended by 44 Polytechnic Directors across Indonesia and vocational high school (SMK) principals nationwide.
The launch featured Director General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Wikan Sakarinto S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Director of Higher Vocational and Professional Education, Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T., and the Indonesian State Polytechnic Directors Forum (FDPNI), Dr. Zainal Arief, ST, MT, as keynote speakers.
This selection pathway is one of the state polytechnic entry routes favoured by SMA, SMK, and MA students from both public and private schools. Originally called PMDK-PN since 2014, FDPNI changed the designation to SNMPN (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Politeknik Negeri) in 2020. “For 2021, SNMPN is specifically conducted for the Diploma 3 (D3) level, while the Diploma 4/Applied Bachelor level participates in SNMPTN organized by the Higher Education Entrance Test Agency (LTMPT). The selection mechanism and process remain the same as in 2020, conducted through online registration and portfolio selection,” explained Zainal Arief, Chairman of FDPNI.
The SNMPN track is an invitation-based selection intended for students who will continue their education at polytechnics across Indonesia. This selection framework is integrated into a unified system and held simultaneously through the assessment of students' academic achievements throughout their secondary education.
Registration for prospective candidates through SNMPN is free of charge. The SNMPN track accommodates admitted candidates/students who come from underprivileged families but possess relatively strong academic achievements through the KIP Kuliah program. Further information can be accessed via https://snmpn.politeknik.or.id using the username and password distributed by the committee to each school.
Subsequently, schools recommend and register their best students. These students will be provided with a username and password to submit their data online. Registration is open starting today from 11 January 2021 until 12 March 2021 and is open exclusively to students graduating this year.
Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) opened the SNMPN track for 6 Diploma III Study Programs. “Please make optimal use of this SNMPN track, all students from SMK, SMA, and MAN, to receive the best education at a polytechnic as a passion to become skilled and ready-to-work professionals,” said Vice Director for Academic Affairs Adha Panca Wardhanu.
