Ketapang Industrial Park: An Industrial Estate Strengthening Link and Match

The Director and Politap team conducted a working visit to the Ketapang Ecology and Agriculture Forestry Industrial Park on Friday, 2 October 2020. This industrial estate manages glue, plywood, tapioca flour, concrete block, machine manufacturing industries, a specialized port, and a business district (café, cinema, hospitality, sportainment). The visit was welcomed by the Head of Public Relations of PT Ketapang Industrial Park, Mr. Herdiansyah. KIP outlined projections and human resource competency needs for the next few years.

The Director of Politap welcomed the projected competency requirements, as they align with existing study programs at Politap. However, several competencies require attention and strengthening, such as language proficiency, internship programs with competency checklists, and broad knowledge especially regarding the application of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).

The Director also conveyed recent developments in vocational education, particularly the Kampus Merdeka program. The company welcomed the implementation of one-year internships to cultivate competent human resources. Regarding "Politap Membangun Vokasi Dari Desa" (Politap Building Vocational Education from Villages), KIP expressed readiness to provide support, especially in the development of Desa Unggul, Desa Sinergi, Desa Akses, and Desa Wisata. At the end of the visit, KIP took the Director and the delegation on a tour around the Ketapang Industrial Park area.
