Politap & Gunung Palung National Park Pioneer Joint Research on Medicinal Plant Utilization

The Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic), accompanied by Martanto and Amanda from the Cooperation Division, conducted a working visit on Wednesday, 30 September 2020, to the Gunung Palung National Park Office in Ketapang, Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The visit was received by the Head of the Office, M. Ari Wibawanto, and staff.

The Director of Politap presented the duties and functions of Politap along with its work programs. Likewise, the Head of the Gunung Palung National Park Office presented the duties and functions of his agency, leading both parties to agree to collaborate on overlapping initiatives as well as activities supporting the implementation of Information Technology in the management of Gunung Palung National Park.

On this occasion, several matters regarding institutional cooperation were agreed upon, with one receiving further attention from both sides being pioneering joint research activities involving researchers from both parties, particularly in utilizing biological resources and ecosystems for the development of medicinal plant utilization. Both sides will promptly prepare personnel for the joint research plan to achieve optimal results.
