Politap and Yayasan Palung Pioneer the Utilization of Biodiversity for Applied Research

The Director of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) visited Yayasan Palung and was received by the Director of Yayasan Palung, Mr. Edi Rahman, on Friday, 2 October 2020. This visit was one of the efforts made by Politap management to socialize the "Politap Developing Vocational Education from Villages" initiative, enabling synergy with Yayasan Palung in rural development efforts.

Meanwhile, the Director of Yayasan Palung warmly welcomed the efforts made by Politeknik Negeri Ketapang to engage with various stakeholders in developing human resources in Ketapang. He conveyed Yayasan Palung's vision: To protect orangutan populations and forest biodiversity in and around Gunung Palung National Park, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, and its mission: To foster an informed and motivated community dedicated to the conservation of orangutans, their habitat, and biodiversity across the Gunung Palung National Park landscape.

On this occasion, it was agreed that Yayasan Palung will visit Politeknik Negeri Ketapang in the future to jointly share information regarding the utilization of biodiversity for applied research by both lecturers and students.
