The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Center of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) held  a Technical Guidance workshop on Drafting IPR Proposals via the IPR Center virtually on 28 April 2021. The event was attended by Politap lecturers and several participants from other polytechnics.  This webinar featured Farid Dwi Murdianto, Head of the IPR Center at Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS), who also holds nine patents.

Endang Kusmana, Director of Politap, opened the webinar. In his opening remarks, the Director highlighted the potential of Ketapang Regency and opportunities to collaborate with IDUKA (industry and the world of work) in developing this potential. Therefore, in 2021, all research at Politap must partner with IDUKA as a follow-up to the memorandum of agreement established with industry partners.

According to Endang, through this event, lecturers are expected to gain an understanding of the procedures for submitting IPR proposals through the Politap IPR Center, representing an effort to assist lecturers and residents in Ketapang and surrounding areas in protecting their works both legally and economically. Meanwhile, resource speaker Farid Dwi Murdianto shared information regarding the types of IPR, benefits, procedures, and impacts of registered IPR for both individuals and institutions. The session continued with an interactive discussion between webinar participants and the speaker, particularly as the speaker possesses extensive experience in both the registration and management of IPR and IPR Centers. Head of the Politap IPR Center A. Nova Zulfahmi stated that the Politap IPR Center is ready to accept IPR registrations. Therefore, his team is ready to collaborate with all parties, including lecturers, government agencies, industry, MSMEs, village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), and all stakeholders to boost motivation for innovation so that their works can be registered for IPR.
