Politap Trains Tourism Village Managers to Develop Digital Packages Based on Local Potential

Ketapang, 9 July 2025 – The Information Technology Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) has once again demonstrated its commitment to developing local potential through a Community Service (PKM) initiative entitled “Digital-Based Tour Package Formulation Training for Local Destinations in Ketapang Regency”, held on Monday, 7 July 2025, at the Integrated Laboratory 3rd Floor, Information Technology Study Program, Politap.

The event was attended by tourism managers from various villages as well as village officials involved in tourism village management across Ketapang Regency. Setra Kusumardana, Head of the Webe Ketapang Foundation, was present as the keynote speaker alongside the Information Technology Study Program PKM Team.

In his opening remarks, the Head of PKM, Eka Wahyudi, stated that the training aimed to strengthen human resource capacity in developing attractive, structured, and competitive tour packages.

“Well-designed and well-conceptualized tour packages will add value to tourism villages, increase visitor numbers, and foster local economic growth,” he said.

The materials presented covered tour package design concepts, digital-based promotional strategies, and practical training on using digital applications to create brochures and travel itineraries. The session was conducted interactively, with participants directly drafting tour packages based on the unique potential of their respective villages.

In his presentation, Setra Kusumardana emphasized the importance of developing structured tour packages to extend the length of tourist stays.

“The longer tourists stay, the greater the opportunity for them to contribute to the local economy,” he explained.

He also added that the resulting tour packages would be integrated into the e-KTG (Electronic Ketapang Travel Guide) tourism information system, allowing prospective tourists to access them digitally in a broader and more up-to-date manner.

Furthermore, Setra emphasized that packaging a tour must not only highlight attractions, but also guarantee comfort and safety for tourists as the key to building a positive reputation for tourism villages.

This event is part of the routine PKM agenda conducted by lecturers and students of the Information Technology Study Program. Looking ahead, the team also plans follow-up mentoring for partner villages to ensure the training results can be implemented sustainably. (Finn)
