Politeknik Negeri Ketapang (Ketapang State Polytechnic) is expected to produce highly competitive graduates. This hope was conveyed by Ketapang Regent Martin Rantan while serving as the ceremony inspector at the opening of Politap's Educational Orientation and Discipline Training at the Ceremony Field of Rifle Company C Yonif 643/WNS, Monday (27/8).

“Such graduates are greatly expected to spur economic development and boost overall national progress,” said the Regent. He also hoped that Politap would become a center of excellence in applied research for industrial development.

In his address, the Regent stated that the presence of a polytechnic-type higher education institution in Ketapang Regency plays an important and strategic role. The role he referred to is providing a skilled, job-ready workforce at the associate degree level, thereby supporting the improvement of the investment climate in higher education.

“Ketapang Polytechnic is expected to become the best higher education institution through partnerships with educational institutions and the business sector,” said the leader, who also previously studied at the polytechnic.

The Regent hopes that through Politap, the best job-ready graduates can be produced for employment in the business and industrial world. The Regent explained that vocational education plays a vital role in development goals. “This is because vocational education serves multiple functions,” said the Regent.

The Regent also advised the college to play a leading role and demonstrate creativity in enhancing the quality, discipline, and work ethic of its graduates. The Politap educational orientation event was viewed by the Regent as an effort to prepare graduates who not only possess strong skills, but also have a high work ethic through improved student discipline.
